Meth and Death | "He who the son sets free is free indeed."

I was praying the other day and God asked me the question, “Are we feeding the children?” I asked God what he meant and He said, “Do you think my children are being fed?” My answer was “no.” Consider the following statistics for teens in the United States:

1/3 OF TEENS HAVE BEEN DRUNK IN THE PAST MONTH.

1 IN 4 TEENS USE ILLEGAL DRUGS.

8000 TEENS CONTRACT AN STD EVERY DAY.

1 MILLION TEEN GIRLS GET PREGNANT EACH YEAR.

750,000 ABORTIONS ARE DONE EACH YEAR.

1 OUT OF 10 ARE RAPED.

EACH TEEN WILL SEE 14,000 SEXUAL REFERENCES ON TV THIS YEAR.

9 OUT OF 10 TEENS HAVE SEEN PORN ONLINE.

1/2 OF TEENS ARE NO LONGER VIRGINS.

40% OF TEENS HAVE INFLICTED SELF INJURIES.

1 IN 5 HAS CONTEMPLATED SUICIDE.

OVER 1,500 TEENS KILL THEMSELVES EACH YEAR.

53% OF TEENS BELIEVE JESUS SINNED.

83% OF TEENS BELIEVE TRUTH IS RELATIVE.

65% OF TEENS SAY THERE IS NO WAY TO TELL WHICH RELIGION IS TRUE.

Some time ago, God gave me a vision to start a teen center for the young people of Yancey and the surrounding counties. We stepped up to the plate. With faith and prayer, God has shown us the way. He has provided a 5500 square foot building right in the middle of town. In light of the above statistics, what will happen to our young people without a youth center that provides an alternative to cruising town and getting into trouble. We all know the situation with drugs in our community. Our kids are under constant pressure at school, with their peers, and many times in their own homes. Our young people are either going to serve God or Satan. It will be much easier for them to serve God with a place like this that can provide a supportive atmosphere with the presence of encouraging and understanding adults.

As I said earlier, we have our building and all of the furnishings we need. We offer computers,video games,foosball,two pool tables,etc. We greatly appreciate the churches and individuals who have helped us get this far. But there is still much work to be done.

I know that our community is full of people who really want to make a difference in the lives of our youth. One of the ways you can do this is by helping us stay open.
